Delta sits on Fraser River delta deposits — deep layers of fine silt and clay that hold water almost indefinitely. Even with Metro Vancouver's relatively fast-draining aggregate sub-base, a properly engineered crushed-rock base is essential here. We don't rely on the native soil to drain. We build a base that moves water through the turf backing and into the aggregate, and away from the property.
